I have not tried rayon thread for making lace with, but have used it for Brazilian Embroidery. Our tutor taught us to give the cut length of thread a hard tug and this stretched it a bit and it gave no problems when working it up. (Wouldn't dare, in case it got another tug!! LOL) I have not tried this, but maybe if the thread was cut of before winding onto bobbins and given a good tug it would help!
