That's what I do - using cotton "curtain lining tape" - it has a single
row of 'holes', rather than the three rows of pencil pleat tape.
However, I have had threads snap using this method for longer-than-just-
getting-home storage, as it holds the bobbins perhaps a bit too firmly.
A crocheted tape would probably be better, as it would be a bit more
flexible.
