I had a double interest in Candleford Green, generations back my dads family
came from Candleford (which is actually Fringford). Last summer I read
Flora Thompsons book plus one called Fringford through the ages which we got
from a local historian.
From there I knew about Queenie the Lacemaker and Bee Keeper so was on the
watch for that part. In the book 'Larkrise to Candleford' which was a bit
heavy going, there is a little more than the television showed. We might
get other little glimpses of her lacemaking during the coming 9 or 11 weeks
but I doubt we will see much.
