Spun silk is also quite a lot weaker than reeled silk,
because the slippery fibers can slip past one another when
you pull on the thread.  If you aren't using the thread to
sew stays together, this probably won't matter -- but
*don't* use spun silk if you've chosen silk because it's
the strongest natural fiber.
