Good afternoon, lacemakers - I am needing some information about a pivot pin. The pattern I am working is from Lene Bjorn's book, "24 Hearts in Bobbin Lace" - 8A and 8B page 18/19. Do I understand correctly that both ends have about 14 times that the worker pair goes around the same pin - pivot pin?
If that is so, there is a lot of thread that builds up on that pin. So, at what point do I pull the pin? And will all that thread flatten out? Torchon is what I work most of the time and in looking at the books I have, I don't seem to find much information about a pivot pin. Can anyone think of a book that maybe I should invest in that has a good explanation and/or picture of pivot pins? Would appreciate any information on this. Thanks so much in advance.
