Hello Everybody,
first I want to tell you that I like Torchon-lace very much because of
it's variaty and it's clear picture. And nobody can forbid to work it
with fine thread to make it still more beautiful.
But the word torchon means in nowadays French floor- or a dish-cloth.
But I want to know if this was the meaning of the word also in 18tz
century when this lace was "born". It is clear that Torchon-laces was
made in that time for undercloth and table cloth and it would never
used for fans.
But today we are free to use it wherever and for what ever we want.
Long live Torchon lace.
