I think it was Anthony Newley who did a recording of the verse.

It's probably time this moved to chat, but one of the verses I remember
started

The weasel's on the table....
I'm sure I learnt it as a nursery rhyme from my mother, but there is
also a vague memory of someone releasing it as a record during the
1960s, or possibly later, to a slightly more upbeat tune than the
original. Can't remember who, though.
