I have met Christine Mirecki several times, and translated one or two pattern leaflets for her. She would definitely make all her scarf patterns on a wide block pillow. Doing all three colours at once means needing a lot of space and having a lot of bobbins around, but at any time usually only one colour is being worked so the other colours can be bundled out of the way. A few extra bobbins are needed in work every time you get to a join. There is an important factor to consider if you do the scarf in separate sections, joining as you go. When you unpin the worked section of the scarf it will pull in from the pricking size. You are going to have to restretch the first section to repin it down for joining the second section, and then the same again for joining the third section to the second. The type of silk I have seen used in Germany for these scarves seems to pull in a lot, so this could be a real difficulty to overcome. -- Money can't buy everything. That's what credit cards are for.
