I've got a simple tape lace edging from the DMC tape lace book on one pillow, about 3/4 finished. Then I've got the Flanders "high bridge" set up on another, just started, but have found it frustrating. Also have a simple Binche from Syllabus I, about 2/3 finished. I'm still cautious about starting to work because of my two cats. They are 4 years old and the male is still very inquisitive and energetic. He also has no notion of when he is in serious danger (like when he is sneaking up on my pillow.) He jumps up on the worktable, lies down about a foot away from the pillow. I go back to looking at the pricking, and then I see a gray tail tip twitching just over the rim of the pillow, and then I see a gray foot, with extruded claws inching towards the bobbins. Then his body is snug up against the pillow, curled around it. Then he decides to pull the pins out for me -- with his mouth (which is very dangerous, tho he doesn't know it.) Every time I try to work it's the same battle. I keep a spray bottle near by, and he just looks at it with great offence in his expression, as if to say: that is really going too far, my human has crossed the line of acceptable behavior.
I suppose the more I try to work, the sooner he'll get the idea to stay away. I also have a Hardanger piece that needs the needleweaving and lace fillings done, and a pulled thread work piece that I just started. Then there is all the computer work preparatory to getting my website up again. Lots to do! Happy New Year everybody.
