I have just finished reading the book "Cathedral of the Sea" by Ildefonso Falcones. The story takes place in the 14th century in Spain. In one of the chapters the author tells us about the lovely laces imported from Flanders.

Now, I don't know if the author researched this subject, but I have a feeling that this part of the story wasn't quite accurate.

I wish I had marked the page so I could quote but it never occurred to me that this subject would come up. I'm not going to reread the book although I enjoyed it very much.
