Hi Susan and everyone The DMC linen floss in single strand is similar in size to Fresia 60/2 linen and YLI Colours - it is 'ok' for bobbin lace but the strands shred easily during work. I made a bookmark in 's Gravenmoers lace from a pattern in an OIDFA bulletin with it, using the full 6-strands for the gimp outline, and single strands for all else. The colours from the 'antique' series are lovely and soft. Despite the one drawback with thread coming apart, I was pleased with the result.
I have one skein of HV-Garn 40/2 which I might use for bobbin lace some time. I figure likely threads should be tried at least once <g>. I have used Londonderry linen threads, and Goldschild in the several sizes for medium type laces.
