I'm not sure exactly when I joined Arachne. It would be around 2005/6 I
think. As a self taught lacemaker who has had only an occassional access to
a tutor the members of this group have been invaluable for their help. The
format is quite old fashioned compared to Yahoo etc., but I like that. I
feel we are private and not easily accessible to spammers and the like who
infest other groups.
I am a moderator for Bobbinlace on Yahoo and there are quite a few
Arachneans who are also members there. Both groups have their advantages.
Yahoo with its photos, links etc., and Arachne with its straightforward
mail, digests and chat. Long may we continue. Happy Anniversary.
