There was a Bosnian woman at the IOLI convention this past week, teaching the knotted needlelace. She had a couple of her mother's scarves with the needlelace flowers along the edge. That was the first time I'd seen them "in the flesh", so to speak. Just pictures before this. It was a great treat. One word to those who are considering buying some of the jewelry: look very carefully at the closeups. Many/most of the pieces showing single, or a couple of, large flowers are knotted needlelace. There were several of the long strands of flowers that are also knotted needlelace, but many/most of the long strands are actually crochet. The crochet flowers are thicker and you can see the "chain stitch" appearance along the edges of the petals. Robin P.
