Wasn’t she, Katherine of Aragon, a great needlepoint maker as well??.

in Spain

Hello Carolina and Antje and everyone,

Thank you for the link to Tordesillas

We were very interested in your mailing today as this year Sandi Woods
and myself have written and published two booklets on the theme of
'Pomegranates in Bobbin Lace'

The second booklet is entitled 'The Queen Katherine Connection' and
describes how Katherine of Aragon the younger sister of Joan
encouraged lacemaking in England. This year is the 500th anniversary
of her Marriage to Henry VIII th and their Coronation; and this was
one of the prompts to writing the booklets.

You all may like to have a look at the covers on Jean's website
www.jeanmaryeke.com

The two sisters must have made lace together and we think would have
made a simple plaited bobbin lace.
We should love to know if you could shed any light on this subject.

We wish you the very best for your Congress.

Jean and Sandi in England
