I have an 18 inch horsehair pillow, and it is my favourite. Lovely to work
on, as the pins just slide in with ease.
The horsehair is Not cut up small, but is curled - frizzy hair!!!

Pins don't rust into the pillow either, if left for ages! Another plus!!!

A few weeks ago I went to the Privately-owned costume Museum, here in
Melbourne, and there was a section on Mourning clothes, and hair jewellery.
I was so busy looking at it, that I forgot to take photos!! Bother!! (Yes,
she allowed photography there). There were some hair rings, and pictures.

Her clothes are from the era 1788 to about 1950s - a social History of
Australia, really. So not just the dresses, but the rest of the outfit -
underwear, hat, shoes, bags, jewellery, etc. Very, very interesting.
