Many lacemakers, especially in Europe, make stunning 3-dimensional pieces. Therefore I think this post is not off-topic because it will be of interest to anyone on the list interested in 3-D textiles, plus the significant number of us interested in math.
If anyone else has seen the book, I'd be interested in hearing of their experiences trying her models. If this is considered off-topic, email me privately. Thanks. ==================================================================== I didn't know Taina published a book, but I will acquire it post haste. I have tried hyperbolic crochet and it is simple to do, if mind bogglingly repetitive. But it IS fun and the shapes you get can depend on how you make the ruffles twist and curl. But as soon as I figured out hyperbolic crochet, I immediately had to try it in tatting---and succeeded. I will put some pictures up on Arachne Webshots as soon as I post this.
