I remember a woman from a town in Italy saying her town as the last place where
bobbin lace was being made. I didn't tell her about the needlelace school on
Pag (an island off former Yugoslavia). Then there's the town in Idrija with
the bobbin lace school and annual festival, where many of the students design
their own work. I believe I've heard of other "last places where lace is being
made".

Then there was the visitor to a lacemaking demo who declared, "There isn't
anyone making lace any more." Try to figure that one out!
