Remember me posting about this tencel(cotton thread from a weaving project)
I got from my spinning instructor? I decided to try it with bobbinlace.
Didn't want to do a bookmark. So I drew up this design to give it a try and
see how it worked. I intended it to be a pendent for a necklace. Could be
anything. But thought I would share the pattern with you. It is just a
tape lace pattern.

I mulled over all the suggestions that you were generous with and took scrap
cotton thread to lengthen the thread at the bobbin end. I loaded 3 passive
pairs and 2 edge pairs with the tencel. Since I needed much more for the
worker thread, I found a comparable hand dyed thread in green. As I worked
on it, I realized I didn't have quite the right amount of length to finish
the tail of the swirl design. So had to cut it short. This thread is strong
and really took to my hard tugging for tensioning. Yes it is a bit bulky of
thread. But doesn't hurt to try. This is what it looks like worked up and
I am still pleased with the results.

I think this design would work up nice with 4-5 passives in much smaller
thread. Hope you give it a try.

Now on to working the sailboat pattern for Father's Day gift.
