The ethafoam pillows sold in the USA are self-healing. The holes seal themselves when pins are removed. They don't crumble. Lacysusan 16 inch diameter ethafoam GBP£22.50 ($34.95)

Polystyrene pillows sold in the UK are not self-healing. The polystyrene gradually crumbles as pins are inserted and removed. You end up with a pillow with a rough dent in the area you've worked in most. SMP 16 inch diameter polystyrene GBP14.25 ($22.00)

There's a big different in price.
