The formula for enlarging/reducing a pattern to suit a different thread is on
page 12 of Ed 5.

"Existing wraps/cm ÷ required wraps/cm x 100 = % enlargement/reduction.

For an existing torchon pattern on 2mm grid for 30 w/cm which you wish to use
with a 24 w/cm thread such as Bockens 50/2:
30 ÷24 x 100% = 125%

For a point ground pattern suited to Madeira Tanne 50 – 39 w/cm with 2.5mm
between footedge pins that you wish to make using Brok 120/2 – 60 wraps/cm:
39 ÷ 50 x100% = 78%"

So - to change from 39 w/cm to 27 w/cm it's:
39 ÷ 27 x 100% = 144.444444444%
140% and 150% are both reasonably close to that enlargement.

A4 -> A3 enlargement is 141% = twice the area (because 1.41 x 1.41 = 2) and
that's about the amount you need to enlarge for Tanne 50 -> Guetermann silk
100/3.
