When I make something for a man, I try to avoid flowers or flowery patterns. I try to find something geometric, mechanical or animal. The train engine sounds good. Cars, planes, tools, fish, elephants, dogs, books, snakes....whatever you can find. If the donated bookmark is for a church function, I often make an easy Torchon bookmark with a cross design in the middle made with a series of diamonds.
All of which reminds me that I need something for the church auction in a week and a half. Thanks for the reminder.
