----It still leaves a bit of a residue if you're unlucky, so I can see the WT 
creating a bit of a mess in time if it should dry out - and it doesn't take 
very long to dry out if it's a dry summer or protracted dry spell. ---- 


I've got Wonder tape that's a few years old.  Rubber bands of similar age are 
either dry/rigid or stuck to something but the wonder tape doesn't do that.  I 
live in southern california, where a 'muggy day' is when the RH gets above 20%.

It's not adhesive, either--it's cohesive.  It sticks to itself without 
"glue-like material".  The "tape" in its name refers to its shape (very long 
relative to width).  I think it's vinyl or similar plastic.  It generates a lot 
of friction when moved against itself and, if it's stretched a bit, it 
contracts to hold against itself quite strongly against rubbing against itself. 
 But it peels easily away from itself, unlike adhesives.
