Hello Again! Thanks Brenda for pointing out the contradictions! One can only wonder if Carrickmacross was the best UK-based descriptor they could think of to explain the method used. Is it possible it's sort of a fabric sandwich with cut lace motifs in between, over-couched with cordonnet? Otherwise why wouldn't it just be called applique? Since the entire outfit was sourced from suppliers in England, were the lace motifs French, acquired from English importers, or made in England in the French style? Hmmm. Hoping for answers from the experts. Sincerely, Susan Hottle, Erie, PA
