Hi Clay and other Arachnids,

I've lost the posting, but Clay talked about
using transparent arrows to mark
her place versus a ghost pillow. (I refuse
to call it an "idiot board"--no one
who can successfully make bobbin lace at
any level is an idiot!!)

I just wanted to note that I started with
transparent arrows and was spending
more time finding my way in spite of the
arrows than I found it took to put the
second pin into the ghost pillow.  I'm
sure it has to do with level of
expertise, but I'd recommend to anyone
starting a complicated piece that a ghost
pillow is much more helpful until
one gets enough experience to know where one
is almost all the time, then the
transparent arrows are sufficient.

In any case, Clay's suggestion of having a
"flag pin" to mark the last pin
placed is a good one for both methods.

Just
my two cents worth.
