I think I missed the beginning of this topic - must pay attention! My "ghost pillow" (several years ago) was just a small stack of polystyrene ceiling tiles, wrapped in fabric, with a "pricking" pinned to it - this "pricking" was actually a huge enlargement of the working diagram I'd made (it was my own pattern). It made it really easy to follow where I'd got to, putting pins in both the ghost and the real (tiny) piece. That real piece found its way into the Lace Guild calendar; the theme for the year was "flowers" and my lace was floral Bucks.
