I was going to suggest toothbrush holders (on digest) but glad others did. Also consider things like eyeglass cases as they come from "reader" size to regular glasses and sunglass size.
It would be easy to make a felted roll to attach to the pillow. I have lots of ideas for that. You could also make a roll up "bag" or tool/jewelry roll,with velcro at the fold or with an end flap, for protected and portable storage. Sometimes a run through the dollar store, one comes up with interesting solutions to all kinds of things. I have even saved tins that cigars come from, expensive double pointed knitting needles come in, plastic boxes that host nice crochet hooks (the last ones I saved for "just in case" held Tulip Etimo crochet hooks, which are superb, btw.) Sometimes I go through the aisle in big box stores through their stationary, office supply, and find interesting things I have used the most, from small leather accordions to beautiful hinged boxes that are for pencil storage.
