Some of my bobbins are dated '84 and '86, others have no dates. I have the pair which were on ebay.

By the way I have a great-grandmother bobbin made by Barry Adams for my mother, the babe is in blue. Now I'm become one I feel I can use it. Barry only worked in ivory, salvaged initially, from pianos before they went on the bonfire and from old tusks he managed to buy. He had his lathes set up in a barn, open to the English weather and would come to the Four Star Lace weekends and demonstrate for us on the Saturaday evening when we relaxed. Barry recommended rubbing the bobbins with lavender oil if they weren't being used regualrly to preserve the ivory.
