Hi Jacquie,
Thanks for bringing that up. Yes, you can do the same thing in PhotoShop.
It would basically be the same process, just a different program. Any
program that allows you to select an area and crop it, and shows the size
either in pixels or inches/centimeters will work.
My suggestions for downloading IrfanView was for anyone who doesn't have a
PhotoShop or PhotoShop-like program.
BTW...I do have to say that I am fairly new to PhotoShop and have been using
IrfanView a lot longer. I find IrfanView a lot less fussy when it comes to
things like this. But then, I'm still on a learning curve with PhotoShop.
I'll write more about the joys of using IrfanView for lacemaking soon.
Heading out to the woods for a retreat with friends today. Taking my
lace...of course. ; )

Fairview Park OH, where the bird chorus has replaced the cricket
chorus...although the cicadas are still at it. Do they ever sleep?

As you say this programme is a copy of Photoshop, would Photoshop or
Photoshop Elements do the same job? Lots of us probably have one of those
already, but I for one wouldn't have thought of using it to deal with a
download. I don't want to download software I don't need, even if it is
free.
