We fared much better than expected.,,only a few downed branches and a million twigs and other tree debris. We are surrounded by very old tall trees and always worry when we have high winds, But I hate the thought of having them removed, not to mention the expense it would entail. We were awakened by all sorts of scary sounds during the night along with the howling of the high winds, but managed to fall back to sleep each time. We were fortunate not to have lost our power this time, but many around us did and are still without. Today it is a very breezy but dry day with perfect blue skies...a perfect day to make lace!

Subject: [lace] Call-out to all Arachnids in the path of Irene .... are you OK???

Just hoping to get good news from everyone in the path of Irene. There
are so many lacemakers in the areas involved, and I'm very anxious to
hear that everyone is OK!!
