Actually meant to send this to the whole list, since the media had this whole
Irene story so over-blown <vbg> that people are probably more worried than
they need to be. -NN

okay--it wasn't more than a big wind storm where I and my animals sheltered in
northeastern Connecticut.  Some branches down that I'm just as glad didn't hit
my car, but nothing much overall.  I'm going down to my house near the coast
in Stratford CT tomorrow, however, and will see then if there was significant
flooding from either Long Island Sound or the Housatonic River; I don't expect
wind damage so I expect all my lace collection to be fine.  I didn't have a
lace pillow with me today so I got a lot of reading done instead (and drooled
over some new books on Barbara Fay Verlag's website...).

became increasingly disorganized as a storm after making landfall in North
Carolina, and I don't think turned out to be much of a threat once it
downgraded to a tropical storm further north, except for flooding (and the
crazy things people will do such as driving into a large area of water
covering a road).  But lots of power outages may be keeping people off their
email, so don't worry too much about not hearing from people for a while.

everyone in the path of Irene.  There are so many lacemakers in the areas
involved, and I'm very anxious to hear that everyone is OK!!
