Hello All! Boy, oh boy, I can hardly wait to hear the answers on this question
as I recently bookmarked several kumihimo sites including Weir Dolls & Crafts.
In their blurb about Clover Tire silk thread, they note that it is very similar
to traditional kumi thread. I've used "pre-twisted" (as opposed to flat silk
for Japanese embroidery) Japanese threads of this sort for Rozashi so now I
wonder if this is the weight that you are seeking. It is very lustrous, finer
than buttonhole twist & slightly squirrely because of the high twist. If that
is so, it would end my use of those pesky hanks of threads stored in tissue
paper! Staying tuned in Erie, PA. Sincerely, Susan Hottle USA
