HI Jen,
I would agree with Bev in her message below. Do the windmill crossing but
add an extra twist in the middle, cross twist, twist cross. This should
bring the colours out of the crossing on the same side of the crossing as
they were on before the entered the crossing. Just make sure you tension
the pairs well after the crossing to avoid any bulk around the pin which the
extra twist could perhaps cause.
I am using this same method, with the extra twist, on the piece I am working
at the moment which is of several colours and has lots of plaits and leaves
that frequently cross each other but where the colours have to come out of
the crossing on the same side as they went into each crossing every time.
It works very well, just tension well afterwards.
