There's really no such thing as a 'bad' demonstration event.  However, I've 
often thought that demonstrating in 'colonial' clothing at historic sites and 
events or state fairs isn't the most effective venue.  People think that you're

Which reminds me.  Wasn't October 1st supposed to be the international day to 
demonstrate lacemaking in public?  The Pittsburgh Lace Group always went to a 
knitting shop or bead shop, etc.  To show craft-oriented people another 
possible addiction.  Anybody who's a member of another craft group can also 
bring a pillow to a meeting to give them a taste of something new.
