I got to the courthouse at 7:30 a.m., as instructed, went through the security
scan just fine. The deputy sheriff who actually looked at the scan didn’t
know me. I told him, “In case you’re wondering, that’s a bobbin lace
pillow, and those are pins.” He said, thinking for a second, “Oh, yeah,
pins, well, they’re ok.” And I went through. Went in a different
security check after lunch, and there was no comment, at all, and he didn’t
look twice at it. Did about 2 hours of lace today. Since I didn’t get
picked for the jury, I’ll be back tomorrow for another chance, and I’ve
left my travel pillow and stand, which fit nicely and compactly into a medium
tote bag with plenty of room to spare in the car. I also brought my knitting
for times when I wasn’t sure I’d have the time to pack up, as when we were
waiting for the panel to go into the court room. I did take a picture, but
it’s not worth posting, except as proof, which should be unnecessary.

because I was in the courthouse all day. 64F, 16C at 4:30 p.m.
