Hi Alex It sounds right to me, but is difficult to Google because of all the M&S hits! "Spencer bodice" does come up with a few illustrations, but they vary quite a bit in style. If you don't get a more definitive reply on here the best person to ask is possibly Gwynedd Roberts, she's very good with historical children's fashion.
