Maybe, as some people are still doing some design work, the way to spark
interest would be for those designers to send patterns for publication
in the various lace magazines - several will only publish things that
are not published elsewhere, but the wider the audience, the more likely
others are to take it up. I think all of the magazines are dependent on
people sending patterns and articles in, so it would also make for an
easier time for the editors!
Whilst on the subject of patterns, I know that some Arachnes have used
the free patterns on the Young Lacemaker page of The Lace Guild's site.
As with other publications, the editor is in need of patterns, which are
suitable in this case for younger lacemakers (both in age and ability),
but spreading out beyond braid and Torchon. As far as I know, the only
stipulation where patterns are concerned is that you have the permission
of the copyright holder to submit them (not a problem if it is your own
design - you retain the copyright), you don't have to be a member - but
no doubt someone will correct me if I'm wrong!

Thanks for the compliment and I do wish that I was in the same class as
Robin and Tamara!!! I was also thinking about the decline in the interest
in the lace the other day and wondering if anything could be done about this
decline.
