Hello All! Since I'm coming late to the "lace clock" discussion, my suggestion won't be needed. But for future reference, there are antiquarian horologists--antique clock dudes--who have all manner of gigglybobs to repair/refurbish/remodel timepieces of all types. They are definitely a group of artisans & it's possible that the original clock could have been fitted with glass by modifying the case. When one of my mid-1800's French clocks needed parts, my guy fabricated some himself then replicated a hand-enameled dial on copper by sending the specs to China--so we're talking can-do craftsmen with world-wide resources. Luckily, a replacement clock was found but that's not always possible. Looking forward to pictures of the lace clock upon completion!! Sincerely, Susan Hottle, Erie, PA USA
