It's certainly outlasted all those hundreds of family history Mail Lists which were so popular in the 90s. I'm wondering if it's not the oldest continually running List there is??? I was wondering that, myself. I am no expert on lists, but it seems like 20 years is a long time in "internet years". Characteristics of lacemakers such as doggedness, loyalty to tradition, etc. might make Arachne an unusual group. Also, the grammar, punctuation, and attention to sentence structure seems anachronistic by internet communication standards, from my limited experience. Devon
