I ended up answering my own question, because I wanted to know. I’ll do it
both ways. All but one of the chateaux are in northern France. Most are in
the Loire Valley, more or less.

Chambord, Chaumont, Maintenon (actually close to Chartres, which is not in the
Loire Valley, but close), Luynes, Blois, and Amboise are all close the the
Loire Valley.

Chantilly, Fontainbleau, Sully sur Loire, Petit Trianon (Versailles) and
Rambouillet are all ‘near’ Paris.
Coucy, Bethune, Pierrefonds, and Fenelon are all in Picardy, which is NE of
Paris, almost to the Belgian border. Chantilly is also in Picardy, but quite
close to Paris, actually.

Outrelaise is in Normandie, east of Lisieux, Bonnetable is SE of Alencon, not
too far from the Loire Valley.

Moulin is the farthest south of all, due east of La Rochelle.

Below is a list in the order of the article. L=Loire Valley. The notations
are for me, and I’ve been to some of these places, so some of the notations
are cryptic. I just like to know where things are. Some chateaux could be in
two place categories, such as Chantilly, and I have used my judgment, such as
it is. I see no actual pattern. There are many chateaux in the Loire
Valley, so certainly that area would be well represented. I wonder what the
criteria were for including it in this set. Certainly it had to appeal to
Americans, as it was sold in New York.

Chambord L

says a Loire ford.
