I will second what Susan Hottle said about her Ott LED mobile task light.
Some ladies in our EGA guild also came home with some of them and really raved
about them. It seemed just the thing for traveling! I took mine to the 2011
IOLI convention in Bethesda because I had limited room in my suitcase. During
my morning class (Flanders with Vera Cockuyt) it just didn't seem like it shed
much light. I hadn't even used it that much before, so the thought of low
batteries never entered my mind! DUH! Luckily for me, I checked my raffle
ticket numbers during the lunch hour to discover I was a winner! There
sitting on the table for the choosing was an OTT light! The kind you PLUG IN
and flip up! Who cares if it's teal blue! (Never have seen one in that color
before!) It saved the day for me because my afternoon Tonder class used much
finer thread!
I have since realized the batteries needed changing, but again, with hardly
any use, it doesn't seem like it sheds much light. You would think that 3 AAA
batteries would last a little longer with the LEDs.
Ironically (or not?) I won another lamp at a regional EGA meeting. I haven't
opened it yet, so maybe I'll donate it as another doorprize.
