I have recently started a knitted lace pashmina. The pattern is in text, which is how I have always done lace knitting but while I was knitting away I was considering the chart method. I wondered how the pattern would look in a chart and how good it would be for me to knit from a chart.
So, being me, I have been experimenting with chart design on the computer. I did not want to buy software specific to this as I would only use it on the rare occasion I had a worded pattern I wanted to convert to chart (if I find I like knitting from a chart) I have found a way to use Excel or Word to make a chart but have further found that the Cross Stitch software I have works better.
