There is so much to share from the past 2 weeks that I find myself with lists of lists. Let us start here, with another interesting Waddesdon presentation about which I do not think we have written: Those of you who love flowers might like to see some web pages devoted to the gardens of Waddesdon. This year, some areas were planted according to textile inspirations. I learned about this from the Waddesdon Spring Summer 2014 schedule, just sent to me by a member of Arachne. The schedule says: "In this contemporary response to Waddesdon's textile collections, Philippa Lawrence re-imagines the land as fabric, and swathes of flowers as running thread." Do not miss the darned muslin pincushion with ER and a crown embroidered on it. Click to enlarge so you can see the tiny darning patch. Would you ever use this little treasure as a pin cushion? When you go to the site below, please look at other pages that are related to it. They contain other photos that will please you. They are listed on the left of the first page. http://philippalawrence.com/projects/darning-the-land-sewn/ This could inspire a very interesting contest amongst our lace making gardeners! You can also go to http://philippalawrence.com to learn more about Lawrence, and see photos of her wrapping the branches of a tall tree with strips of red fabric. Another skill required: riding a cherry picker to reach the branches! Jeri Ames in Maine USA Lace and Embroidery Resource Center
