If I have answered the same question over five times then the problem is that I have not answered in a way that that particular student can understand, not that she has not tried to understand. Keeping on asking means that she wants to understand and I have to keep on looking for another way to give her the answer. We get there in the end.
This is so true, I have found when I am teaching, (computer usage or a hand craft) that your statements hold true as well.
