It is possible to scan a brown or even orange pricking card, and have the computer print it out as magenta or apple green. You have to adjust the color balance. Possibly intensify the shadows (which makes the black dots blacker). Possibly adjust contrast. Look at the software that came with your scanner for these capabilities.
