I never heard of a 'Lace Day' but a 'World Wide Knit in Public' in Madrid (Spain) which took place last Saturday. The Costume Museum participated ( http://museodeltraje.mcu.es/index.jsp?id=751& ) as it did in the past and there we were representing bobbin lace on Saturday evening. Unfortunately I did not take any pictures of the event because we were so busy showing people how to cross and turn threads that we missed it. In the end there were two or three young women interested in knowing more and now they will start to attend classes to go on learning how to make bobbin lace. For us it turned out to be a great success and the Museum wants us to continue with demonstrations and workshops in the near future.
