Yes, you can use vinegar. Maybe a tablespoon, no more, into the basin of water. Swirl to dissolve, then put the silk in, make sure it is evenly dampened, let it sit for a few minutes before pressing out the vinegar rinse, then rinse again in clear water. Salt sets dyes too, but I prefer to use vinegar. I also put a dab in when using silk dyes.
