As stated before, I am rereading Patricia Wardle's book 75 x Lace which has
a great deal of information that seems to have escaped me on previous
readings. On p. 38, she refers to a Brussels lace manufacturer, Alphonse
Nossent, "who seems to have specialized in reproduction laces". The
reference is to a collar published in 1905 which has many of the figures
from the well known piece of Point de France with Louis XIV imagery.
It has me wondering what other laces Alphonse Nossent might have
"reproduced". Does anyone know anything about this late 19th early 20th
century lace producer?
