Hello Sue and everyone Not expert as such, but I'll have a go at describing: With the threads neatly across the pillow, put the large pin under them towards you (the lacemaker). Deftly lift the pin back over the threads, and under again twisting so as to catch the threads again in a backwards move, completing the half-hitch.
Push pin into the pillow further anchoring the threads. Easier said than done? I've tried it without attempting a hitch, just catching the bundle around the large pin several times, and that has held, once pushed into the pillow. Whatever works...
