Thank you Lorelei & Sue! Yes, I know about Bobowa--that's where they have the lace festival every year. Lace makers apparently take over the town! Also someone in that area operates tours & lace classes for visitors. There are many photos of Polish lace online but I hesitate to say that I could make out enough detail to recreate a similar sample. The YouTube example looked like something I could actually accomplish but I'm also concerned that this could be an ethnically sensitive area. It's not clear whether it is more insensitive to make a stab at it or to ask for help with a closely guarded family pattern! We're trying to do something nice for the Polish residents & honor their traditions at the same time. In the meantime, I know many more Polish terms than when I started! Thanks again for lending a hand. Sincerely, Susan Hottle USA
