I noticed Jeri's reference to an Armenian Lacer with CRLG and wanted to pass the news.
Armistice had been in ill health recently and at 90 years old, passed away October 10th. We have lost a very active advocate for tatting and lace making in general. She also taught many people to tat and was a force in our Guild for many years. I didn't know her, in her younger days, but she was very active in her community and served on Fairfax City, VA boards for recreation and cultural arts. She was honored recently with the naming of a large recreation field, The Armistice A. Turtora Bowl which is open space usable for many family activities. She lobbied hard to not turn it into a single use ball field. It is now a site for many activities used by all ages and family gatherings. She will be missed.
